COURSE INFORMATION
This interactive and engaging workshop is designed specifically for Human Resources professionals to build understanding of how trauma-informed principles and practices can be applied to organizational culture as a solution toward common challenges, such as retention, engagement, organizational outcomes and employee well-being.
This workshop is designed to equip HR professionals with the tools to foster a supportive, inclusive, and resilient workplace. Participants will leave with actionable strategies to enhance their organization’s response to trauma, promote healing, and build a culture of care. Participants will also have the opportunity to engage in cross-collaboration and networking with other participants for continued collaboration post-event.
Key topics include:
- An introduction to the foundational principles of trauma informed care and consideration for how to start applying those principles in processes, systems, communication, leadership development, and policies.
- How trauma informed care is grounded in science and how awareness of the neurobiology of stress is foundational to the practice of trauma informed care.
- Consideration for navigating the challenges inherent in HR practice with a trauma-informed approach
- Recognizing the importance of self-care for the HR professional and the signs of compassion fatigue, secondary trauma, burnout, and moral injury.
- Break-out sessions to provide opportunities for connection, synergy, reflection, brainstorming, and creative out-of-the-box problem solving.
WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
Ideal for HR teams, managers, and organizational leaders seeking to better support their workforce and create a more compassionate and productive work environment. No background knowledge of trauma informed care is required before registering, though we do request you take our Introduction to Trauma Informed Care prior to the event.
COURSE SCHEDULE:
The program begins both days at 9:00am Central Time and concludes at 4:30pm Central Time. This course is very interactive and requires full attendance and participation to receive both a certificate of completion and the resources. No part of the course will be available asynchronously. Lunch will be provided mid-day, along with several short breaks in the agenda.

What is the refund policy? Refunds must be requested in writing to the organizer. Full refunds, less ticket processing fees, will be given until 10 days before the event. After that date, partial refunds, less non-refundable costs, will be given upon request.
What is the venue for this event? This course will be held at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center in Kansas City, MO. In-person attendance is required. Lunch, beverages, and snacks are included in the registration cost. Outside food and drink are not permitted. You may wish to bring a laptop or tablet to access electronic handouts during the course.
Can my organization receive an invoice for payment? Yes--if you need to register and receive an invoice, rather than paying by credit card, please contact the organizer for the process.
