Module 1: Why is it important to know about Trauma-Informed Care when working with children?
This module provides an overview of trauma-informed care, how it affects child development and behavior, and strategies that support resilience in children.
The objective of this module is to understand types of trauma, the foster care system, what adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are, how trauma impacts the brain and behavior; and what strategies exist to support children, build their resilience and minimize the adverse effects of trauma.
Session 2: Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 1:30pm to 4:30pm
Module 2: Why Self-Care is Important for the Child Caregiver
This module provides an overview of the importance of self-care and provides strategies for preventing burnout and negative stress.
The objective of this module is to learn about the concepts of trauma for adults, understand the impact that stress has on physical, emotional and relational health, and know how to differentiate between burnout and compassion fatigue. In addition, learn and practice self-care strategies to improve the personal well-being of the childcare provider.

This workshop is for home-based child care providers, families participating in the Bridge Program, and Family, Friend, and Neighbor (FFN) caregivers. Those who attend this workshop will have the opportunity to receive materials.
