For the past two and a half years we have been amid a pandemic. Adapting to ever-changing policies, procedures, work stress, and trying to balance home life. Self-care has been a big buzzword during this time, but what about trauma? What about dealing with everything you have experienced over the past 2.5 years? Trauma is the response to a deeply distressing or disturbing event that overwhelms an individual's ability to cope, causes feelings of helplessness, diminishes their sense of self, and their ability to feel a full range of emotions and experiences. Brooke will discuss the signs, symptoms, and solutions with regard to trauma.
As the suicide rate for construction workers is second in all industries, NAWIC Detroit believes this is a very serious discussion that needs to be had during Mental Health Week 2022 and beyond. Please join us for this very informative meeting.
