What's Going On?
Join us on Thursday, March 20th for a field trip to the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant, one of the largest wastewater treatment facilities in the world that just so happens to be located in our own backyard! We will be participating in an extensive tour that will take us across various parts of the facility and give us insight into the process for cleaning over 700 million gallons of wastewater every day!
What to Expect
- Arrive at the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant no later than 9:45 AM! Please allow enough time in the morning to ensure an on-time arrival - the tour begins PROMPTLY at 10:00 AM.
- As far as transportation goes, public transit does not appear to be a feasible option, so we HIGHLY encourage all attendees to CARPOOL. If you have a vehicle, please coordinate with any friends who may be attending! Also: let us know if you have space in your car for some new friends! In order to reduce our environmental impact, we'd love to make this happen with as few vehicles on the road as possible!
- The tour lasts approximately 2.5 hours, so be prepared for an active morning/afternoon!
- Make sure you bring your ID or Passport and dress appropriately (long pants and closed-toed shoes).
- There is no official activity planned for after the tour, but if you have the time and the inclination, maybe lunch in the area (or back in the city) is in the cards? Feel free to keep the good times going :)
- Please keep an eye on our Instagram (@trashpeopleoflogansquare) and your emails for event updates! If inclimate weather or other circumstances result in us cancelling the event, we'll provide as much notice as possible!
If you have any questions, the best way to reach us is via Instagram @trashpeopleoflogansquare. If you don't have Instagram, feel free to email us at [email protected]
