Help protect our waterways and have fun doing it in our third annual Trash Dash! Arrive any time between 5 and 7 pm for a self guided excursion through the lagoons of the island. Boards back by 8 pm. Please be patient and spaced out while arriving. You may have to wait to get out on the water if we are busy.WE PROVIDE: gloves and garbage bags in the hopes that you help us clean up our waterways of trash.
We'll be using the Clean Swell app to record data on the trash we find. This information is used by the Ocean Conservancy to provide researchers and policy makers insight to inform decisions on how to keep our waterways trash free.
-Swim Drink Fish will be doing a water sampling demonstration/workshop. Learn how to protect your local bodies of water beyond trash cleanups by getting involved with this awesome organisation.
-Andres Jimenez, from Bird Studies Canada, will be talking about the impacts of pollution on the plentiful local bird species. If you're interested in birding, he will be leading an informative walk after the event at 5 pm.
-We at TISUP will be giving away a $75 off coupon to one lucky participant and a free pair of sunglasses to everyone who signs up online.
