The Office of Sustainability and Resilience (OSR), in partnership with the nonprofit Reconsidered Goods, will host Trash Bash, a found art competition for teens, from 6-8:30 pm, Thursday, July 11, in the atrium of 2005 Yanceyville Street. Register your team of 3-5 teens online now at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSevGBZfl6gZGcOeWFZPjqupPB37K8DZVWfQvu4zf9akQqd-FQ/viewform.Visitors are invited to watch the competition.
To promote creative reuse, artists 13-18 will compete to build a free-standing sculpture with a variety of items provided by Reconsidered Goods, a creative reuse center that helps divert donated materials from landfills. Space is limited to complete. All sculptures will be displayed at Revolution Mill after the event and the winning team will receive a one-of-a-kind Reconsidered Goods Reuse Trophy.
Trash Bash is a signature program of Reconsidered Goods, offered in partnership with organizations and businesses to promote environmental sustainability and encourage creative expression. The goal is to foster ingenuity, creativity, and invention, reconsidering how we think about discarded materials, art making, and creative potential.
