About this Event
Headliner - Trapdoor Social
Trapdoor Social is a Los Angeles band creating new wavelengths of musical vibration, drawing from roots in alternative and indie rock, infusing big band sax and brass sections, and fighting for a brighter future with politically charged lyrics and a major commitment to promoting environmental sustainability. Led by songwriter Skylar Funk, producer Curt Schneider (John Mayer, Rod Stewart), drummer Grant Dickerson, and guitarist Louie Gonzalez. The new album includes Spanish and Portuguese language moments, joyous guitars and earnest, emotive rock.
Trapdoor Social has toured nationally, produced solar-powered concerts and festivals (namely LA's and Berkley's Sunstock Solar Festival), and reached ears through terrestrial radio, commercial & television syncs, and online streaming, including Spotify’s “Discover Weekly”. After returning from a successful European tour, opening for the B-52's, they released a song featuring the legendary frontman Fred Schneider - “Prophit” is now available everywhere. The band has been featured on the KROQ Locals Only vinyl and looks forward to their September West Coast tour with a collaborative performance with Hyde Park Brass Band from the UK - the band that played as their horn section on the B-52's tour. Trapdoor has a growing Latin American and European audience, and produces content in Spanish, Portuguese and French. Frontman Funk looks to pick up German next. Live streams and concerts showcase multi-instrumental prowess from saxophone, guitar, piano, tambourine, and harp, while Funk's backing band can all switch instruments and still put on a great show with a positive energy that creates smiles throughout the room. Many of their shows also include backing from other full brass bands, like SoCal's Top Shelf Brass Band

Opener - Silvertongue
Originally formed in Massachusetts by front man Andrew Stevens, guitarist Jake Hogan, and bassist Dorian Taylor, the band relocated to Portland, Oregon where they found the missing pieces to their puzzle—keyboardist, Mel Boell, and drummer, Joe-Henry McQuary.
Silvertongue has developed a reputation in the Pacific Northwest music scene for their high-energy, ultra-dynamic performances and contagious charisma on and off stage. Their sound, rooted in folk, has grown to embrace elements of pop and dance music for a well-rounded catalog of wondrous adventure songs best described as “Garden Indie.”
The band’s latest release, Colors, is a seemingly care-free indie anthem that encapsulates the melancholy aftermath of a bitter breakup. The single was recorded at Jackpot! Recording Studio in Portland, OR—engineered and mixed by Zach Bloomstein.
