As the Spring Equinox approaches, nature awakens from the stillness of winter, inviting us to celebrate renewal, growth, and balance. In this special workshop, we will explore the teachings of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to guide our practice through the energetics of the season. In TCM, Spring is the season associated with the Wood element, which governs the Liver and Gallbladder organs. This season represents a time of rebirth, vitality, and the upward, expansive energy of nature. Just as seeds sprout and trees begin to bud, we are invited to open up, stretch, and grow in alignment with this natural rhythm.
The Liver in TCM is responsible for the smooth flow of Qi (energy) and blood throughout the body. It governs the tendons and muscles, making it an ideal time to work with flexibility, strength, and movement. However, when Liver Qi is stagnant or imbalanced, we may experience irritability, frustration, or physical tightness.
In this workshop we will aim to reawaken through a yin to yang movement practice and offer a safe space to invite in focus and clarity for the season ahead, preparing for growth.
You can expect gentle movements from deep relaxation to a gentle awakening and connection through the power of a group.
All props and journal materials will be provided along with seasonal refreshments.
