About this Event

Nate Powell-Palm is a certified organic farmer from Big Horn, WY. As a first generation farmer, Nate has built a farming operation through the stable, premium markets offered by the organic certification. Raising a mix of small grains, pulse crops, oil seeds, alfalfa and cattle, Nate has found a path that allows him to maximize soil health through regenerative practices, while selling into a market that makes those practices profitable through organic certification.In addition to farming, Nate provides free consulting services to help other producers get organic certification and find markets for their crops and cattle.

Nate is happy to join the Wyoming Food Coalition to discuss opportunities in organic farming, the steps to certification and a review of resources now available to financially assist producers who are interested in adopting regenerative practices and achieving organic certification. Additionally, Nate will share about the careers in organic farm inspecting, a job that often compliments many folks getting started in the organic industry.
