This 6-hour practical course is designed for learners with a basic understanding of data analysis concepts who are looking to enhance their skills in dashboard creation using Power BI. It covers everything from the basics of Power BI to advanced data modeling and dashboard customization.
Module 1: Introduction to Power BI and Dashboard Basics (1 Hour)
Objective: Understand the fundamentals of Power BI and the principles of dashboard design.
Topics Covered: Overview of Power BI, importance of dashboards in sales analysis, key components of an effective dashboard.
Module 2: Setting Up Your Power BI Environment (30 Minutes)
Objective: Learn how to set up Power BI and prepare for dashboard creation.
Topics Covered: Installation of Power BI Desktop, overview of the Power BI interface, connecting to data sources. Module 3: Data Importing and Preparation (1 Hour)
Objective: Master data importing and perform initial data preparation.
Topics Covered: Connecting to common data sources (Excel, SQL databases), data cleaning and transformation using Power Query, creating data models.
Module 4: Creating Basic Visualizations (1 Hour)
Objective: Understand and create basic visualizations relevant to sales data.
Topics Covered: Overview of visualization types (bar charts, line graphs, pie charts), best practices for visual data representation, building interactive visualizations.
Module 5: Advanced Data Modeling and DAX (1 Hour)
Objective: Learn advanced data modeling techniques and DAX for more complex analyses.

Assessment
End-of-course practical take home excercise where participants will complete and present their sales dashboard based on a given dataset .
