About this Event

Be transported through a soulful and transcendent performance, which can be described as "sufi meets folk meets pop" with artists who trace their heritage across borders in South Asia: Zoe Viccaji, Noor Lodhi, Manesh Judge, Mike Overtone and Asim Wali. Proceeds from this performance support oral history work by The 1947 Partition Archive.


Zoe Viccaji- Vocals

A world class singer and songwriter known for her soulful voice and dynamic stage presence. She blends jazz, pop, rock, folk, and Sufi influences, and sings in English, Urdu, and Hindi. A Coke Studio regular and Universal Music India artist, Zoe’s music has been featured in international film and TV.


Noor Lodhi – Bass Guitar

A veteran of the Bay Area music scene, Noor has produced award-winning soundtracks (Maya, Josh) and worked with major artists.


Asim Wali – Keyboards

Classically trained and active since the 90s, Asim has performed with leading South Asian artists and co-composed the soundtrack for Josh.


Mike Overtone – Guitar

With roots in Indian classical and a flair for funk and rock, Michael blends East and West through his signature style, drawing inspiration from Kishore Kumar to Eric Clapton


Manesh Judge –Drums/Tabla

A dynamic artiste with over 2000 performances, Manesh has worked with legends like Asha Bhosle and Ali Zafar. He co-produced award-winning film scores like Maya, Josh & The Line of Descent.

11:00 AM - 11:50 PM - DISCOVERING MY GENEALOGY WORKSHOP (50 min) - Learn how to explore your personal genealogy and discover your family history with Dr. Stewart Traiman.

12:00 - 12:50 PM - FAMILY ORAL HISTORY WORKSHOP (50 min) - Learn techniques for recording oral history interviews of elders in your family or community.

12:00 PM & 1:00 PM - LIQUID POUR MEETS WARLI TRIBAL ART WORKSHOP (50 min each) - Join artists Sarabjit Singh and Lalima Srivastava for a vibrant, immersive workshop where contemporary abstract techniques meet ancient storytelling.In this session, participants will explore liquid pour art—a dynamic, meditative process of pouring, tilting, and blending paints to create fluid, dreamlike compositions.

2:00 PM - 2:50 PM - ARCHIVING AND PRESERVING MY FAMILY HISTORY WORKSHOP (50 min) - Learn techniques for documenting, organizing and preserving your family history for posterity.

3:00 PM - 3:50 PM - JEWELRY MAKING WORKSHOP (50 min) - Make and take home a necklace or a pair of earrings. Learn how to use wire, tools and beads to craft your own jewelry. All materials and tools are provided. Beginners and advanced jewelers are welcome. By Ariana Conner.

4:00 PM - 5:50 PM - TRADITIONAL HENNA BODY ART WORKSHOP (1 hr 50 min) - In this two hour workshop, you'll learn the ins and outs of creating beautiful traditional South Asian henna body art designs.
