Trans Joy Zine Making!
Come join us at Spartacus Books and make a zine about trans joy! No experience required and all materials + snacks are included! At the end of the workshop, you will have the option to include your zine in an ongoing dissertation project about trans joy if you would like to (no pressure!). Come learn how to make an 8-page mini zine, chat about trans joy and queer zine culture, and make art together :)
This event is exclusively for trans folks, self- and broadly-defined. All ages are welcome, but please note that this event is geared towards teens and adults; there will be a workshop for youth this fall/winter, so keep an eye out!
Tickets are free but space is very limited as the store will be open during the workshop. If you are no longer able to join us, please either pass your ticket along to a trans friend or cancel on eventbrite to open a slot for someone else :)
Masks are required and will be available at the entrance. Please do not join us if you are feeling ill.
Spartacus Books is located at 1983 Commercial Drive, near the intersection of 4th and Commercial. The 20 Bus stops near the store entrance, and there is street parking available. The store itself and area we will be using are accessible with mobility aids, but unfortunately the washroom is not. The space is scent-free and has two box-fan air filters running at all times. There will be music and patrons in the store; if a quieter space is easier for you, I suggest the Thursday slot.
