Hey trans, nonbinary & gender nonconforming musicians & songwriters! Yes, you! Maia's Music Room is a free community space for jamming, co-creating, skill sharing and/or general music-making, run by & for trans folks.The Trans Haven team at PeerPride hosts this event monthly. We meet at Neverending Books every third Saturday of the month from 7:30 to 10:30pm (musicking ends at 10pm, hanging out can go on a bit longer).
Folks are welcome to come and go as they would like to. As people enter the space, we will invite them to share what they hope to experience in the space. The facilitator, Rae Inmon, will do their best to help the group flow in a way that is accessible and rewarding for all folks participating. If you're not a musician or singer, you're still welcome to come and listen!
All levels of skill & all styles are welcome. Some instruments (synth, drum set, 1 acoustic & 1 electric guitar and assorted percussion) will be available along with a PA, one amp, and one mic. If you can bring your own amp and/or instruments, please do! If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us.
