TRANS ART SHOW AND MARKET!Spicy Meow Werks presents a special event to highlight all the wonderful talent of the DC area transgender community! Join us Saturday December 13th from 11AM-4PM for a celebration of queer joy and resilience highlighting transgender artists, makers, small business owners, and community organizations at Rhizome DC in Takoma Park. Do some holiday shopping and come support your local trans folx! Entry is free and everyone who comes respectfully is welcome.
Add your voice (and possibly your face) to the Transgender Flag Statement Empowerment project. We bring the big transgender pride flag, you bring your words! We will have signs you can you use to reclaim or give power, joy, or whatever energy you need or want from the symbol to help uplift yourself and/or those in the community currently being affected by the political changes happening in the country and in DC. You can also make your own sign and take pictures, as well as see images from the project's first stop at the DC Burners DCompression event on Nov 15th.
Rhizome DC is located at 6950 Maple St NW, Washington, DC 20012. There is some parking at the location as well as street parking. It's also just a short walk from the Takoma Park metro station on the red line. There is an access ramp around the back of the building, but the bathrooms are upstairs.
