About this Event
Help us celebrate Gopher Tortoise Day. Take a specialized tram tour with a gopher tortoise biologist and learn about gopher tortoise ecology, conservation efforts, and learn more about the research at Circle B. You will get an in-depth look at their habitat and learn how they are a keystone species, providing shelter to 360 species of wildlife.
- This tram tour start at 9:30am and generally last for 1-2 hours.
- S eating is limited to 25 spots. First come, first serve.
- Please make sure you arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of the tram tour. (Participants may meet at the boardwalk entrance.)
- Participants may use restroom facilities located in the Discovery Center before and after the tour. (There are no restrooms along the tour route.)
- It is recommended that participants bring water.
Who should sign up for this? This sign up is for individuals and/or groups of 5 or less. Recommended for ages 5 and up.
- P LEASE NOTE: On the day of your tour, if additional seats are available on your tram, those spots may be open to other visitors.
Tickets & Sign-Ups: Participants must sign up through Eventbrite.
- Select how many tickets you need. (Max 5 tickets per-person.)
- Click "Reserve a spot," to begin the registration process.
- Event tickets are for organized per individual. 1 Ticket = 1 Individual Seat.
What is Gopher Tortoise Day?
According to the Gopher Tortoise Council, " April 10th was officially adopted by the Gopher Tortoise Council as Gopher Tortoise Day! The goal of Gopher Tortoise Day is to increase awareness and appreciation for these long lived, gentle reptiles."

- If you are unable to attend on the date of your ticket, please call Polk's Nature Discovery Center to let us know and cancel your ticket, using the instructions below.
To cancel tickets to an event before the event starts.
Go to "Tickets," select your order and choose "Cancel Order".
1. Go to your order. Log in to your Eventbrite account, then click your order on the Tickets page.
2. Choose "Cancel Order". Select 'Cancel Order" (next to your order details). Then choose “Yes, cancel this order".
3. Check for an email from Eventbrite. The attendee and event organizer receive an email to confirm cancellation.
