Join us at Bristol Beacon for our annual event looking at how we train, nurture and support community music practitioners.Training the Community Musician 2022 is the third in a series of symposiums delivered by Sound Sense in partnership with the University of Aberdeen. This year we're delighted to welcome you to Bristol Beacon, home of Sound Sense member and TTCM22 host Bristol Music Trust.
As in previous years, TTCM 2022 will embrace an ethos of provocation and inclusivity. Day one of the event will involve presentations, workshops and conversations exploring the theme: How do we prepare community musicians for the challenges of 21st-century practice? Presenters will include:
* Siggy Patchitt & Julia Roderick - Bristol Beacon
* Nell Farrally - Evaluation - Research - Consultancy
* Marie Negus - SoCo Music Project
* Rachael Perrin - Soundcastle
* Graham Dowdall - Community Musician and Educator
During day two we will use Open Space Technology, to continue and deepen our conversations, facilitated by Elspeth Murray.
Tickets start at £70 for freelancers and small organisations and full price admission is £95.
We are keen that financial barriers do not prevent practitioners from attending Sound Sense events. We have a small number of bursaries available. If you would like to take advantage of this, please email [email protected] briefly outlining your relevant circumstances, and we will be in touch as soon as possible.
We hope to see you in Bristol!
