Effective Leadership in Action Series 2

Spring Training

Are you ready to elevate your leadership skills? Are you an employer looking to support your staff in their professional development?

This three-session leadership foundation class series will feature relevant leadership topics in today’s workplace and include a supplemental roundtable discussion for each topic. Participants are expected to attend all classes and roundtable discussions and will receive a certificate of completion if they do.

Dates + Times:

Thursday, May 15, 2025 - 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m (Meets ½ hour earlier on the first session)

Thursday, May 29, 2025 - 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Thursday, June 12, 2025 - 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Fees: $105 total (includes all lunches) for the 3-session series. Registration is reserved only once paid.

Session 1: The Enneagram: How Understanding the Nine Types Can Transform Your Work Relationships, Partnerships, and Workplace Dynamics

Facilitated by Christi Y. Engle, CPC, MCLC; Perennial Coaching Services; Master Certified Life Coach and Certified Enneagram Teacher

Date + Time: Thursday, May 15, 2025, | 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 pm (Note: Class meets ½ hour earlier on the first session of the series)

Location: Wor-Wic Community College, Fulton Owen Hall, Room 300; Lunch will be provided.

This session will cover:

  • Defining the Nine Types and why typing matters
  • Core motivations of each type
  • Identifying Types in the workplace
  • How to embrace gifts and strategically manage the challenges of Type interactions
  • Analyzing the impact Enneagram discovery will have with team dynamics and contribute to a positive culture within your organization

About the Facilitator

Christi Y. Engle, CPC, MCLC is a Master Certified Life Coach and Certified Enneagram Teacher dedicated to helping individuals and teams move beyond autopilot and into lives of intentionality, balance, and growth. Through an intuitive and client-centered approach, she facilitates deep self-awareness, resilience, and transformation—empowering clients to align their lives with their core values and to meet life’s challenges with curiosity, courage, and presence. Using proven tools like the Enneagram and guided self-reflection, Christi partners with clients to navigate challenges, improve communication, and foster personal and professional development. Her coaching extends to individuals, couples, and corporate teams, providing tailored support for those seeking clarity, stronger relationships, and sustainable growth. Christi is available for individual coaching, retreats, workshops, team building, panels, podcasts, and corporate or small group presentations.



Session 2: What Got You Here Won't Get You There

Facilitated by Amy Thompson, Greater Ocean City Chamber of Commerce

Date + Time: Thursday, May 29, 2025 | 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 pm

Location: Wor-Wic Community College, Fulton Owen Hall, Room 300; Lunch will be provided.


This session will cover:

  • Identifying types of leadership and creating the blueprint for the type of leader YOU want to be
  • The uncomfortable aspects of taking on a leadership role and how to gamify it (side quest, anyone?)
  • Communication tools for leaders: 5 Languages of Appreciation; what is feedback and how to give it; clarity and discernment

About the Facilitator

Instructor Amy Thompson, currently serving as Executive Director of the Greater Ocean City Chamber of Commerce, has an extensive background in both corporate and nonprofit spaces. She has experience managing multi-functional teams to successfully deliver products to market, managing volunteers to exceed goals, guiding clients to effectively use technology solutions, and training & developing sales leaders. Working across a varied cross-section of industries, she delights in building resilient teams that get things done. Amy brings a light-hearted approach to training, focusing on practical fundamentals that make work easier and more joyful.



Session 3: Leading with Insight: Aligning Self-Awareness, Influence, and Action
Facilitated by Robin Hall, SPHR with Mariposa Training and HR Consulting, LLC

Date + Time: Thursday, June 12, 2025 | 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 pm

Location: Wor-Wic Community College, Fulton Owen Hall, Room 300; Lunch will be provided.

This interactive and action-oriented session serves as the capstone for the leadership development series. It brings together key insights from the Enneagram, leadership growth, and communication strategies.

This session will cover:

  • Exploring how self-awareness, adaptability, and intentional leadership drive team success.
  • Integrating discussions, practical tools and learning into a personalized leadership approach.
  • Creating actionable strategies, a leadership decision-making framework, and a feedback toolkit to navigate workplace challenges with confidence.

About the Facilitator

Instructor Robin Hall, SPHR has many years of human resources experience which has made her an invaluable asset to the organizations she has assisted. Her ability to align HR initiatives with overall business growth and strategy has driven success. Throughout her career, Robin has predominantly worked in the high-tech industries, including international settings. This exposure has allowed her to keenly understand the unique challenges and opportunities of leading in a rapidly evolving landscape. Her passion for leadership development is evident in the impactful programs she has implemented to nurture and empower employees at all levels. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Robin is known for her dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. She believes in creating a culture where employees feel valued and empowered to contribute their best. She owns Mariposa Training & HR Consulting, LLC.

The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore offers a scholarship for non-profit organizations in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties.
