Need training and resources in order to teach your students about the prevention of abuse and safety in age appropriate ways? Safe Journeys, the domestic and sexual violence agency serving LaSalle and Livingston counties, is going to support you in meeting your prevention education mandates*! During Train the Trainer, Safe Journeys will demonstrate core lesson plans for educators responsible for implementing the prevention of abuse and safety mandates to students in sixth through eighth grades. Core lesson plans encompass both the learning objectives for the mandates listed below and troubleshooting common situations, activities, stories, and add-ins that individualize the lesson to the school appointed prevention of abuse and safety mandate coordinator.

(105 ILCS 5/27-23.4) - Violence Prevention and Conflict Resolution
(105 ILCS 5/27-13.3) - Internet Safety Education
(105 ILCS 110/3) - Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Education in the Critical Health Problems and Comprehensive Health Education Act
Intended audience: Social workers, PE/Health Teachers, School-Appointed Prevention of Abuse and Safety Mandate Coordinator.
*Please note: In the Train the Trainer, you will be receiving training for the classroom education portion of the mandates.
