Come down to the Glen Afton railway on the 6th of April and take a ride in our historic carriages down the ex glen afton mining line. Our industrial diesels will be taking charge of the train over the day, and you'll be able to see our steam locos on display in the yard, including the first public display of a newly returned and restored Climax locomotive!
So bring the family, have a picnic, catch a train, and get up close to our collection of historic logging, industrial and ex NZR locomotives slumbering in their shed!
Trains start at 10:00am and run every 45 minutes until 3:15pm (10:00, 10:45, 11:30, etc)
Prices are $10 per adult, $5 per children under 16, free for children under 5
(Due to issues related to weather events the trip is shortened to around 30 minutes each, with ticket costs reduced)
The kitchen is also open selling BBQ's sausages, chips, pies, toasted sandwiches and soft drinks.
EFTPOS is available for both tickets and food.
The station for boarding the trains is located at 1153A Rotowaro Road, Glen Afton, approximately 12ks from Huntly.
