Rachel Sweet is a leading abortion rights activist known for her role in securing major victories for reproductive rights in conservative states. Sweet has led successful campaigns to defeat anti-abortion initiatives in Missouri, Kansas, and Kentucky. She played a key advisory role in Ohio’s campaign to establish abortion rights. A former lobbyist for Planned Parenthood, Sweet has built a reputation for crafting winning strategies that transcend party politics, framing abortion bans as government overreach rather than partisan issues. Her approach has resonated with voters across the political spectrum, helping abortion rights campaigns secure victories in every state where the issue has appeared on the ballot since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022. A longtime Kansas City resident, Sweet is deeply connected to the Midwest and understands how to engage voters with diverse and often conflicting views on abortion.
