Have you ever wondered why people choose to walk multiple kilometers through winding trails which often lead right back where they originally started? I'm one of those people. Why do I do it? For the Trail Mind.
For me, there is a certain mindset I experience when I'm on the trail. A sense of connectedness unique to hiking and bushwalking; a resilience I don't possess in other areas of my life; and overwhelming feelings of gratitude.
It is such an incredible experience that I want to share it with others.
I'm looking for some volunteers to be a part of a free group experience in which we use bushwalking and hiking as a mindfulness and therapeutic experience. The walk will be approximately 5km. We will meet at the Maidens Reserve Carpark at 7:45, leaving at 8am.
In exchange, I ask for your constructive feedback in order to create something that is going to facilitate positive mental health practices, foster a love of walking out in nature and provide a sense of calmness and connectedness.
All you will need to bring is an open mind and a water bottle. I would suggest being sun-smart; wearing sunscreen and a hat. You may also consider a fly net.
Please note that participation is voluntary, and you join at your own risk. I will be there as a guide and support. I hold a first aid certificate and will carry a basic first aid kit. However, I cannot accept any liability if injuries occur.
If you have any questions about the event, please don't hesitate to contact me.
