About this Event
TRADITIONS CONCERT - 7:30pm
The Traditions Concert at UNC Charlotte is an evening that brings our students and community together through dance. It features work from students in the Hip Hop, Dance in Community, Ring Shout Traditions, and Special Topics courses, along with young dancers from Sedgefield Middle School and community collaborators. Each group brings their own perspective and movement language to the stage, celebrating Traditions that have been preserved over years.
This year, we also take time to honor the memory of Professor Shamou, whose presence and artistry left a deep impact on our program. The concert serves as both a space for learning and for remembrance; a moment to celebrate community, tradition, and the people who help shape our creative lives.
