
About this Event
Learn the basics of embroidery with Molly Smith—setting up a hoop, threading needles, and some of the most commonly-used stitches. This class will teach straight stitches, including the elusive French knot, before moving on to decorative and knotted stitches. Along the way, you'll receive tips and tricks for smooth embroidery. Molly will provide some of her completed work as example.
Participants will have access to:
- A six to eight-inch hoop
- An original design to be stitched
- Templated fabric
Participants will learn how to:
- Choose and work with thread
- Thread a needle for embroidery
- Set up a hoop
- Use various stitches: running stitch, backstitch, split stitch, satin stitch, chain stitch, lazy daisy stitch, french knot, and spider web knot
- Tie off your threads and finishing
