Join us at Lion Yard for a free, brush painting workshop celebrating Chinese New Year – perfect for families, young creatives and anyone keen to try something new.
Led by local artist Sho-Jen Dowell, these relaxed, drop-in sessions will introduce you to Chinese calligraphy and brush painting, creating your own Chūnlián (spring couplets) on traditional red paper. These decorative couplets are displayed on doors and windows to invite good fortune, joy and prosperity for the year ahead.

As part of Love Cambridge's Arts Festival, you’ll practice calligraphy motifs before creating a finished piece featuring a horse, which you can take home as a meaningful Lunar New Year decoration.
