About this Event
Discover the art of cyanotype through Artist Trading Cards! Cyanotype, also known as sun print, is an antique photography process ideal for documenting special objects. Artist Trading Cards are a fun way to make and exchange work, always in a trading card size and format. Participants will create their own mini collection of up to 10 cards suitable for framing, collecting, or sharing, using the objects in the museum's collection or your own objects from home. All materials will be provided.
About Emily Relf: I am an art educator and artist who has a habit of becoming fixated on unique processes and techniques. I have lived around the world (Saudi Arabia, Thailand, France, Jamaica, Bangladesh, and Bahrain), unexpectedly finding myself in the culturally rich environment of Las Vegas. I develop strong bonds with antiquated methods but I focus my teaching and practice on contemporary art and artists. My work is mostly project based and site specific with photography being the only constant.
Currently, I enjoy teaching the young artists at Marion E. Cahlan Elementary School in North Las Vegas, and credit them with fueling my playful spirit.
