About this Event
Come join Sultana Education Foundation’s paddling program for an exploration down Gray’s Inn Creek as we explore down the creek as it widens (on an earlier paddle we will explore up the creek to its source). This creek is a lovely area that flows into the Chester River just as it meets the Chesapeake Bay. As we head down to the point where the creek meets the Chester we will explore the history of this creek and others like it, and why they have been important to the economy of the Chesapeake Bay for thousands of years.
Sultana Education Foundation's public paddles are a great way to explore the shallow creeks, streams, and rivers that flow to our nation’s largest estuary. During a typical voyage, participants paddle through scenic, undeveloped portions of one of the Bay’s tidal tributaries while learning about the flora and fauna that make the region so unique. Kayak programs take place on the National Park Service’s Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail and were established with the support of the National Park Service’s Chesapeake Bay Gateways office. Kayaks are provided so all you need to bring is water, a snack, and your binoculars! No children under 12
