Track Tuesday is our weekly speed-work session designed to make you a stronger, faster, and more efficient runner. We meet every Tuesday at the Whitesburg Elementary School Track for structured workouts on the track at 6am and 6pmWhether you’re new to speed work or a seasoned racer, workouts are scalable, supportive, and focused on smart training. Come build speed, confidence, and community one lap at a time.
Each week's specific workout will be posted with the run club weekly schedule as well as emailed out to all Run Club members.
**Tuesday, January 20th**
Warm up 1 mile
4-8x 400m repeats with 1 min recoveries
2-3 minute walk/jog
4x200m repeats with 30 second recoveries
Cool down 1 mile
Shorter, faster repeats develop fast twitch muscle fibers and improve running economy (how well your body uses oxygen). Aim to run each 400m at your 5k pace, or you can start more conservatively and increase your pace a bit with each repeat. Adding the 200m repeats at the end will help you practice running fast with good form when your legs are fatigued.
