Traces, markings, etchings, advertising, proclamations, decay, renovations, layers of accumulated sediment: on site records of the life activity carried out in this place.
City as palimpsest. The meaning of signs grows more obscure and fragmented with time, though the present may appear no less alien. This has been happening for a long time now. There is no blank slate, you can only deface, repurpose, resurface, and layer.
