Art was integral to the Mexican Revolution and murals in particular were deployed as a way of making art available to all. This tour includes two important sites for Mexican muralism: the Secretary of Public Education (today the Museo Vivo del Muralismo) and the public Mercado Abelardo Rodríguez, built in 1934. Participants will see murals by Diego Rivera, David Alfaro Siquieros, Jean Charlot, Roberto Montenegro, and others at the SEP and works by Diego Rivera's students, including the Americans Marion and Grace Greenwood at the market. The tour will end with lunch at the market.
