Optræder på festivalen efter at have øvet og udforsket øen Saltholm.
„Traveling Bodies“ er en stedsspecifik performance og møde mellem fire dansere og musikere og den lokale natur og traffikale infrastruktur. Fire kunstnere fra Serbien og London har tilbragt arbejds- og mødetid sammen på øen Saltholm, de har performet på øen og bringer nu deres arbejde til området omkring Tårnby Park Performance Festival in Tårnby. Neda Kovinic og hendes internationale hold fokuserer på berøringen og aftrykket fra en bevægende krop og et bevægeligt sind og disses forbindelse til et konkret sted. Hvordan taler forskellige steder i Tårnby om miljømæssige spørgsmål og klimaangst? Kompagniet undersøger spørgsmål omhandlende rejse, turisme og natur. De vil tilbringe dage i stilhed på øen Saltholm og observere dyr, planter, havet og flyene, der lander i Kastrup Lufthavn. Hvad kan en rejsende krop opleve? Hvordan kan den rejsende krop møde lokale kroppe? De rejsende kroppe bringer bud med sig, der beretter om menneskelige opleveleser i mødet mellem natur og rejseteknologi, mellem centrum og fysiske grænser.
I min forestilling omkring et potentielt sted at omkring festivalområdet, lagde jeg mærke til øen Saltholm på Google Maps. Jeg studerede den, en lille, sumpet ø, isoleret fra det omrkingliggende liv, placeret midt i Øresund, og øen pirrede min fantasi, men også drømmen om at lave research og performe dér. Øen beskrives som et fristed, et paradis af absolut ro, hvis man kan se bort fra de fly, der flyver ind over øen og lander i Kastrup Lufthavn.
Men passer et steds virkelighed til de fantasier, der projiceres af online-blikket? Med vores tilstedeværelse på øen vil vi forsøge at lære fra de naturlige omgivelser, at skabe sammen med dem, fra denne oplevelse, disse følelser, vores opfattelse af elementerne, udsætte vores kroppe for omgivelserne. Vi vil konstant reflektere og være kritiske overfor, hvad vi tager med os til øen. Kan man tage naturlig viden med sig fra et sted? Vi tager til øen for at foretage en udveksling. Vi vil skabe vores unikke krop/lyd ritual af elementerne i de sange, vi har valgt, mens vi forbereder os til denne rejse. Folkesange fra Serbien med deres organiske rytme og dyresymbolik i teksterne, såvel som britiske folkesange med temaer såsom seksuel relation gennem dyre-menneske-sammenligninger, vil tjene som et element i kernen af vores nye ritual, vi ønsker at give til stedet.

“Traveling Bodies“ is a site specific performance-encounter of four dancers and musicians with the local nature and traffic infrastructure. Four artists from Serbia and London spend work and meeting time on the island of Saltholm, perform there and bring then their work into the area of the Tårnby Park Performance Festival in Tårnby. Neda Kovinic and her international team focus on the touch of a moving body and mind with a concrete site. How do different spaces of Tarnby speak about the environmental questions and eco-anxiety? The company investigates questions of traveling, tourism and nature. They will spend days in the silent island of Saltholm, observe animals, plants, the sea and the airplanes landing at Kastrup Airport. What can a traveling body experience? How can the traveling body meet local bodies? The traveling bodies are messengers of human experience in an encounter of Nature and travel technology, between centers and borders...
Imagining the potential spot of performing around the Festival area, I had noticed the island of Saltholm in google maps, studying it, a tiny marshy island that sits in rural isolation in the middle of the Øresund, which sparked my imagination and the dream to make research and perform there. The island is described as a haven of absolute tranquility, if you can ignore the planes coming in to land at nearby Copenhagen Kastrup airport. But, does the reality of a place fit to the fantasies projected by the online gaze?”
With our presence in the island we will try to learn from the environment, to create together with it, from the experience, feelings, perceiving the elements, exposing our bodies to it. We will constantly question what do we bring there from afar. Can we take natural knowledges from the place? We are going there to exchange. We will create our unique body/sound ritual of the elements of the songs we have chosen while preparing for this travel. Folk songs from Serbia with its organic rhythm and animal symbolism in its lyrics, as well as Britain folk song with themes around sexual relation through animal human-comparisions, will serve as an elements for the matrix of our new ritual we want to give to the place.
