Join us for a walking tour, of the street fighting at the south of town during the Battle of Gettysburg. Street fighting, house to house was a rare occurrence during the Civil War. The fighting in town is seldom studied, described or understood. We will describe in detail, the terrain, existing structures and the fighting which occurred there on all three days of July 1863. We will start at the Heritage Center and walk down Steinwehr Ave to Baltimore Street and returnDuration and Starting Location
Approximately a 2 hour walking tour beginning at the Gettysburg Heritage Center 297 Steinwehr Avenue

Parking is behind the building, with frequent stops along the route for interactive discussions and questions for The Red Shirt. It is at a leisurely pace. All walks are paved roads. There is no hiking. There are no drastic elevation changes. Wheelchairs are able to take the route.
