Très cher·es ami·es,
Il y a deux mois, j’ai composé une chanson pour la Palestine. Cette chanson m’a traversée comme un grand coup de cœur, et j’ai senti le besoin de l’enregistrer tout de suite.
Avec mon amie Christine, nous sommes en train d’élaborer un scénario de vidéoclip, et nous serions vraiment honorées que vous y participiez. Je vous écris ici une idée générale du projet. Si cela vous intéresse, j’aimerais tourner le clip vers la mi-août. Je créerai un petit groupe pour qu’on puisse choisir ensemble une date qui convienne à tout le monde.
Je tiens aussi à préciser que si jamais des revenus devaient être générés par cette chanson, tous les fonds seront remis à un organisme palestinien œuvrant à Gaza, que Christine et moi choisirons avec soin.
Vous trouverez plus bas une description générale de l’idée du clip. Ce sera un projet vivant et organique, donc vos suggestions et idées seront les bienvenues lors du tournage.

Bref scénario et idée du clip
J’aimerais faire un vidéoclip assez simple, poétique, humain. Ce que j’imagine : une série de portraits de personnes, palestiniennes et d’autres origines, filmées sur fond noir. Des plans rapprochés, à hauteur de buste, pour capter toute la force des visages, des regards, des expressions.
Chaque personne tiendrait un objet symbolique ou poserait un geste simple. Voici quelques idées :
Quelqu’un pourrait présenter un plat d’oranges ou un melon d’eau, une autre personne pourrait porter un keffieh, ou broder un tatreez. Si on a la chance d’avoir un petit groupe palestinien qui danse le dabkeh, ce serait magnifique.
Pour les personnes non palestiniennes, il y a aussi plein de possibilités. Vous pourriez tenir un objet symbolique de votre propre culture ou héritage — quelque chose qui parle de mémoire, de transmission, de racines. Nous aimerions aussi inclure des personnes des Premières Nations, qui portent elles aussi une profonde blessure liée au territoire, et un élan viscéral de préservation de leur patrimoine. Ce projet est aussi une manière de faire résonner ces voix, ces héritages, ces luttes de dignité, un geste collectif pour préserver ce qui fait la beauté et la richesse de notre humanité.
Nous avons aussi pensé à projeter des images de Gaza sur les corps durant la partie instrumentale. Christine et moi avons plusieurs idées en tête, mais le plus important pour le moment est de savoir qui souhaite participer.
À partir de là, on développera le concept ensemble, en restant à l’écoute de vos élans 💛
Je pense tourner le clip vers le 18 août, mais selon les disponibilités de chacun·e, on pourra ajuster.

Dear friends,
Two months ago, I wrote a song for Palestine. It came to me like a powerful wave, a deep emotional call and I felt an urgent need to record it right away.
Together with my friend Christine, we’re currently developing a concept for a music video, and we would be truly honored to have you take part in it. I'm sharing here a general idea of the project. If it speaks to you, I’d love to film around mid-August. I’ll create a small group to help us find a date that works for everyone.
I also want to mention that if any money were to be generated from this song, 100% of the funds will be donated to a Palestinian organization working in Gaza, carefully chosen by Christine and myself.
Below, you’ll find a general description of the video concept. It’s an organic, evolving project, and your input and ideas will be very welcome during the shoot.

Short concept and video idea
I’d like to create a video that’s simple, poetic, human. What I imagine: a series of portraits, people of Palestinian and other backgrounds, filmed against a black backdrop. Close-up, bust-level shots that capture the strength of each face, gaze, and expression.
Each person would hold a symbolic object or perform a small, meaningful gesture.
Some examples: someone offering a plate of oranges or a watermelon, someone else wearing a keffiyeh, or embroidering a tatreez pattern. If we’re lucky enough to have a small group of Palestinians who can dance dabkeh, that would be absolutely beautiful.
For non-Palestinian participants, there are also many possibilities. You could hold an object that represents your own culture or heritage something that speaks of memory, of roots, of transmission.
We would also love to include members of Indigenous communities, who also carry deep wounds connected to the land, and a visceral drive to preserve their cultural legacy. This project is meant to echo these voices, these heritages, and these dignified acts of preservation, a collective gesture to honor what makes our shared humanity so rich and beautiful.
We’ve also thought about projecting footage of Gaza onto people’s bodies during the instrumental section of the song. Christine and I have many ideas, but the most important thing right now is simply to know who would like to participate.
From there, we’ll shape the concept together, staying open to everyone’s input and energy.
I'm hoping to film around August 18, but the final date will depend on everyone’s availability.
