Toubkal Charity Challenge

The High Atlas Mountains are the highest in North Africa. At 4167m Mount Toubkal is the highest of these. It is remote, barren and absolutely stunning. Our challenge is to climb to the highest peak in the whole of North Africa.

Day 1

We depart the UK for Morocco and transfer to our hotel in the village of Imlil at the foot of the Atlas Mountains for a briefing about the challenge ahead.

Day 2

Trek form Imlil (1,740m) to Neltner refuge (3,210m) – our base for the next 2 nights.

Day 3

Set off from Neltner refuge to achieve our goal, the summit of Toubkal at 4,167m the highest of the Atlas Mountains. Then return triumphant back to Neltner refuge for well-deserved rest.

Day 4

Trek from Neltner refuge to Aroumd village and then transfer to our hotel in Marrakech for a celebratory dinner.

Day 5

Transfer to the airport for our flight back to the UK, arriving the same day.

This is a fundraising charity challenge

There are three ways to fund the cost of this trip:

Self-Funded

Non-refundable registration fee £150 plus cost of the Trek at £450. Total payable £600 (Minimum group size 10 participants) Paid directly to Big World Treks.

As this is a charity challenge you will then be asked to set up a Just Giving page and raise what you can for our hospitals. You can select any ward or department within The Royal, Aintree or Broadgreen and every penny you raise will help us to improve patient care and support staff who care for our patients.

Minimum Sponsorship

This option means the cost of the trip is met through raising a minimum sponsorship.

Step 1 – To join the challenge you pay the non-refundable £150 registration fee directly to Big World Treks and commit to raising at least £900 in sponsorship.

Step 2 – Start fundraising ? we can provide fundraising packs, materials, help you set up a personalised fundraising page and do everything we can to help you smash your fundraising target.

Step 3 – 80% (£720) of sponsorship must be bank with the charity no later than 10 weeks before departure (August 2023). This allows the charity to then pay the balance of the trip.

Step 4 – The remaining 20% (£180) of your sponsorship should be banked with the charity no later than 4 weeks following your return after the challenge.

In the unlikely instance that you do not reach your fundraising target you will have the option to postpone the event, change to an alternative fundraising event or make up the shortfall yourself.

Part self-fund & fundraise
