Even with the public holiday this week, drop in is still happening! We’re decorating tote bags - we’ll have paint, glitter, a sensational choice of fabrics and jewels to make your bag your own. ?️
As always, the sensory space will be available if you need a space to chill. The usual arts and crafts, colouring in and board games will be around if you prefer. There is no obligation to join in on any of the activities.
Dungeons and Dragons with dungeon masters Brynn and Jayne from Adelaide Queer Gamers will be on, for existing players and new ones alike. This is beginner friendly.
Dinner and dessert will be available (for a gold coin donation if possible), potato chowder for dinner and lemon slice for dessert. Vegan and GF options will be available as usual.
Please do not attend if you are a close contact, have cold/flu symptoms, a sore throat, runny nose, a cough, fever or feel unwell.
Masks are no longer mandatory, however you are welcome to wear one. If you test positive after a drop in event, please message us to let us know so that we can let attendees and staff know to get tested or monitor for symptoms. Your privacy will be respected.
***General Info:
- Feast Queer Youth Drop In is a regular fortnightly Drop In social drop in space for LGBTIQA+ queer young people (15-25) that runs every second and fourth Thursday of the month.
- Structure: There's casual mingling until about 6.30pm, then we do circle introductions and basic space info/expectations (ok to just sit and listen in), share updates, and after that we start the night's activities for those who want to join in on those too.
- Dinner generally is ready between 6-6.40pm, and dessert is available later in the night. Please bring a gold coin donation if you are able - and if you are not, that’s totally okay!
- It's ok if you are new and a bit nervous, that's normal! Staff are there to help introduce you to the space. We have a chill out space with sensory toys if you need some time out for any reason. Feel free to message us with any questions.
- This is a drop in space. There's no need to book.
- This is a drug and alcohol-free space, which includes being mindful of what we talk about in this space. Energy drinks must be poured into glasses in the kitchen (can free space).
- This event is held on the lands of the Kaurna people. We pay respect to their cultural and spiritual beliefs and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.
