This 4-hour clinic will include a single extended swim session, followed by video review of strokes at pacing and (optional) sprinting speeds or alternate strokes. Participants should have basic familiarity with the Total Immersion method, through a workshop, lessons, or self-study. Filming will be conducted at the beginning and end of the pool session, and a wide range of stroke topics will be covered, including:
pacing with tempo and rhythm
propulsion in each gear of swimming
kick timing and kick strategy
stroke maintenance while breathing
extending endurance
deeper dive into stroke mechanics
All participants will receive access to all film clips recorded at the clinic in a private (to the clinic) dropbox folder.
SCHEDULE: Our schedule will be as follows (subject to minor revision):
*** Please note this workshop will be held outdoors ***
Saturday
01:30 pm Check in at BBMAC, basic introductions
01:45 pm Initial filming
01:45 pm - 04:00 pm Stroke work, focal points, small drill review, and final filming
04:15 pm - 05:30 pm Film review.
Many lesson and clinic participants seek out a reminder, a review, that is not as time-intensive as a weekend workshop. This group session aims to reinvigorate the learning process, review the primary differences of the stroke taught in Total Immersion, and refocus the energy and understanding of any Total Immersion student.
This is a teaching pool (warmer water), but it is outdoors, so take into account the air temperature and other conditions for planning, including for post-session review, which sometimes is conducted outside.
Parking is easily accessible on the adjacent streets and lots.
