Total Chaos is a hardcore punk band founded in 1989 in Pomona, California, by vocalist Rob Chaos. Emerging from the heart of the Southern California punk scene, the band became known for their raw sound, aggressive anti-authoritarian stance, and commitment to DIY ethics. Alongside other West Coast legends, Total Chaos helped revive and sustain the second wave of street punk and anarcho-punk in the U.S. during the early '90s.Their early records—Pledge of Defiance (1994) and Patriotic Shock (1995)—established their blend of politically charged lyrics, breakneck speed, and working-class anthems. The band aligned themselves with movements supporting animal rights, anti-racism, and anti-globalization, often organizing benefit shows and speaking out against systemic oppression both on and off stage.Throughout their career, Total Chaos has toured extensively across North America, Europe, South America, and Asia, playing with acts like The Exploited, Conflict, and GBH. Despite numerous lineup changes, the band has remained anchored by Rob Chaos and continues to deliver music rooted in rebellion, unity, and resistance.With a discography spanning more than a dozen releases, including Anthems from the Alleyway (1996), Punk Invasion (2003), and World of Insanity (2016), Total Chaos remains a staple in global punk culture.
