Join us to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Toronto Women's Bookstore: 1973-2012

Free - advance registration will be required. Tickets will go on sale on September 1st, 2023.

We have three requests:
One.
Please send photos and images to [email protected] for possible inclusion in a wonderful slideshow we’re putting together for the night of the event. Photos can include posters, public group photos, public individual author photos at TWB past events, the interior or exterior of the building(s) where TWB was. If possible, identify the year/month/date the photo was taken.
The slideshow will be shown before the event begins, and after the event is over. AND, thanks to the wonderful Rise Up! Feminist Archives collective, it will be available on their Toronto Women’s Bookstore page afterwards.
Two.
In the front room at Lula Lounge on the night of the event we will have a memorabilia display of physical items from the Toronto Women’s Bookstore. These items are for display only and will be on loan from their owners for the night of the event. Please email [email protected] to let us know what you have to lend us. All items will be returned after the event. Pick up within the city of Toronto only will be arranged individually.
Three.
What are your thoughts /feelings about the impact of the Toronto Women’s Bookstore? What do you want to share about your memories and experiences there? We are looking for testimonials, 50 words maximum, to be included in the slideshow. Please indicate what general timeframe you’re talking about, if relevant. Send your testimonials to tw[email protected] . You are welcome to include your name but it’s not necessary.

Looking for donations to support the Toronto Women’s Bookstore 50th Anniversary Party!
Anjula Gogia and May Lui are co-organizing, with a team of excellent volunteers, the Toronto Women’s Bookstore celebration party that’s happening on Tuesday October 10, 2023 at 6:30pm at Lula Lounge, 1585 Dundas Street West in Toronto.
While the event is free, there are quite a few expenses such as the cost of the venue, live-streaming, closed captioning, paying the writers, speakers, performers, and more.
If you are able to donate any amount we greatly appreciate it!
