A Night at the Movies---1920s Style!

Be a part of the first Canadian audience in a century to see the newly re-discovered lost film-The Gold Diggers in a 100th Anniversary screening. Lost for close to a 100 years a pristine print was discovered in the UK and brought back to audiences. This was the first Gold Digger film and was based on hit Broadway play. When the rich uncle objects to his nephews chorus girlfriend believing all chorus girls are gold diggers her friend gets involved to show him what true gold digging looks like. There's parties dancing and more than a little flirting in this film!

Plus-a re-enactment of what it was like for 1920s movie goers--the pre-show includes a rare early Disney cartoon newreel footage human interest shorts and a thrilling serial chapter.

All with live musical accompaniment by Marilyn Lerner.
