Spotlight on Tools: Mastering the Router
Join us on Saturday, Feb 8, from 8 AM to 1 PM at the Old Globe Tech Center (5335 Market Street) for a focused workshop on the versatile router. Designed for woodworking enthusiasts, this hands-on class offers an in-depth exploration of router techniques, jigs, and precision tool use.
What You’ll Learn:
- Router Mastery: Set up, use, and safely operate a router with various types of bits.
- Jig Creation: Design and build two jigs to enhance accuracy and repeatability in your projects.
- Project Layout: Develop precision measuring skills using a tape measure for effective project planning.
- Tool Proficiency: Safely operate a pneumatic narrow crown stapler for clean and efficient assembly.
Hands-On Project:
By the end of the session, you’ll have created a three-tiered cupcake holder that showcases the skills and techniques you've learned.
What to Bring:
To participate, please bring the following tools:
- A standard tape measure (imperial measurements, not metric)
- Diagonal cutter pliers
- A hammer
Class Size and Details:
This class is limited to 8 participants, ensuring personalized instruction and ample practice time.

PLEASE NOTE:
- The learner must have worked a call from the referral hall, worked under a collective bargaining agreement, or be a current member of IATSE Local 122.
- This is an in person class.
