About this Event
Alhambra Performing Arts Center (APAC) presents Tony Jones' Jazz Band on Saturday, November 23rd, 2024 at 7pm.
Join us for an unforgettable evening with Tony Jones, a versatile performer known for his exceptional drumming, captivating vocals, and masterful vocal impersonations. Born into a musical family, Tony's grandfather, Leon René, was a noted composer, and his father, Rick Jones, was a drummer. While the piano was his first instrument, Tony found his true passion for drumming in high school.
On this special occasion, Tony will showcase his vocal talents, paying tribute to his grandfather with renditions of Leon's timeless tunes, including "When It's Sleepytime Down South" and "Mr. Satchmo." Known for his remarkable impersonation of Louis Armstrong, Tony's performance promises to delight audiences.
Accompanied by some of L.A.'s finest jazz musicians, including Larry Goldings, Larry Koonse, Bob Shepard, and more, Tony will present a diverse repertoire of jazz and pop classics, including "River Man," "Moondance," and "Stella By Starlight."
Don't miss this opportunity to experience Tony Jones's extraordinary talent and his unique interpretations of beloved classics. It's an evening of music you won't forget!
