Tony Bebb is one of Australia's most respected and experienced second-generation bonsai artists and teachers, with over 40 years of experience in the field. He is known for his ability, expression, and freedom of thought when working with trees, and is a popular demonstrator and educator throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Career and Contributions
Family Nursery Background: Tony began his journey as a teenager in 1985, working in his family's bonsai nursery in Brisbane under the guidance of his father, Lindsay Bebb.
Educator: He currently serves as the Principal of the Brisbane International Bonsai School, where he runs a variety of classes and workshops, from group sessions to private lessons. He also regularly contributes articles to bonsai society newsletters.
International Presence: Along with his wife, Keiko, he hosts Bonsai & Cultural Tours to Japan, sharing his passion for the art form and Japanese culture. He has also represented Australian bonsai at international events, such as the 100th anniversary of the Omiya Bonsai Village in Japan.
