Begin the new year with a full moon portal to honor the energy of the wolf through vocal toning, collective prayer, and authentic expression
About this Event

Let us celebrate the first full moon of the year as our ancestors have for centuries. Gathered in song and chant to create a sound portal for peace. We will invite forth the authentic voice to cleanse and tonify the temple of the mind, body, and spirit. Together we will create a collective prayer to support ourselves and all of our relations.

This gathering is an opportunity to experience reciprocity with sound as a medicine. We will learn techniques to open and properly make space for our inner voice to flow, activate a container for prayer through sound, and then chant specific tones as a group for an extended period of time to invoke peace and healing.

Our full moon chanting will be accompanied by various sound healing instruments as we embody the energy of the wolf moon. This class is perfect for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. All of our voices together will create a unique sound signature to begin the year with peace.

The flow of our gathering:

**Warm tea will also be provided by the wonderful Azure's Apothecary**

A note from the facilitator:

Yasas beautiful souls! I'm Maria Cataland and I love to explore and expand the edges of my authentic voice. I know all to well what it means to second guess oneself, hesitate or fear speaking up, and unintentionally show up with a mask over my truth. This class is a longtime dream being birthed with the hope that we will continue to gather in song for many years to come.

I began my journey of sound healing over ten years ago while living in the country of Laos. I was blessed to join a Buddhist temple and chant daily with novice monks there for several years. This experience of using my voice as a form of prayer changed my entire life. Since then I've grown in my practice through personal study and training with various shamanic vocal coaches. I invite you to join me in exploring this particular class where we will navigate a "temple style" chanting practice as a form of prayer and meditation. AHO!

This class is for you if:

  • you want to explore and strengthen your authentic voice
  • you want to bring peace to a World of unrest
  • you are working towards clearer boundaries, speaking your truth, expressing yourself more freely, creating from an authentic place
  • you want to explore your voice as an instrument
  • you already enjoy or have been curious about various forms of meditation, pranayama, or chanting
  • you seek like minded community

What to bring:

  • seat cushion/pillow/meditation bolster (note: do not bring yoga mat as we are gathering temple style and will be seated on the floor or standing for the duration of the class)
