This study day is suitable for midwives, health visitors, breastfeeding peer supporters, breastfeeding counsellors, lactation consultants, doulas, maternity nurses, speech therapists, dentists, doctors and surgeons.
Topics to include:
Identification and assessment of tongue-tie in infants
How tongue-tie can impact on feeding
Lingual frenulum anatomy and implications for practice
Management of babies with tongue-tie
Strategies for helping mothers feed tongue-tied babies
The role of bodywork.
Myths and controversies including lip tie, speech difficulties and airway issues.
This study day will equip you with the knowledge to identify the feeding difficulties and tongue functional deficits which may be linked to tongue-tie so you can make appropriate referrals to a tongue-tie service.
The study day will be held at Ely Museum in the centre of Ely, Cambridgeshire. This study day has been awarded CERPS in the past and I will be re-applying for them and expect it to be re-awarded 5.5 L CERPS.
