TONE & STRETCH NEW CLASS Tuesdays 10-11am Anderson Hall, Leslie - starts 9 July!
This class will use small weights and resistance bands to help tone up your body in a low intensity interval training session.
Low intensity interval training (LIIT) consists of periods of low impact exercise performed in intervals combined with longer periods of rest than you might have with a HIIT (high intensity interval training) workout. LIIT is deal for people who are older, new to exercise, or recovering from an injury. In fact, it may be even more beneficial for those who rarely exercise due to its gentler nature. Much like HIIT, LIIT is believed to be great for burning fat and calories, boosting mental wellbeing, and reducing stress. It's also seen as a way to improve mobility, flexibility, and cardio resistance. Low intensity movement between long rests can lower blood pressure, reduce risk of cardiovascular disease, shed unwanted weight, and increase metabolism. LIIT can also improve cognitive function and lessen fatigue, especially in older adults. Another benefit of slowing down is focusing on form.
