Tom Parker Bowles talks to Matt Tebbutt about his new book 'Cooking and the Crown: Royal Recipes from Queen Victoria to King Charles III'Mae llyfr newydd Tom yn codi’r llen ar geginau brenhinol ddoe a heddiw. ‘Fel geek hanes bwyd,’ eglura ‘Ni allaf ddweud wrthych pa mor gyffrous fu darllen ryseitiau gwreiddiol yn yr archif frenhinol yn Windsor, a diflannu i fywydau a theyrnasiad (ac arferion bwyta) sofraniaid o’r Frenhines Fictoria ymlaen.' Fodd bynnag, mae'n ein sicrhau nad 'cygynets rhost ac ortolan' yw'r ryseitiau cyhoeddedig ond 'ryseitiau cywir' y mae wrth eu bodd yn eu coginio.
Er bod Tom yn fab bedydd i'r Brenin a'i fam, Camilla, yn Frenhines, ni all ddisgwyl unrhyw barch at Matt. Mae Tom a Matt yn mynd yn ôl yn bell, i’w dyddiau yn cyd-gyflwyno ar Market Kitchen UKTV. Tom Parker Bowles yw beirniad bwytai The Mail on Sunday ac mae'n olygydd cyfrannol i Esquire, Country Life a Conde Nast Traveller yn ogystal â beirniad rheolaidd ar Masterchef y BBC. Matt Tebbutt sy'n cyflwyno Saturday Kitchen ar BBC 1 ac mae ei lyfr newydd Pub Food: 100 Favourites, Old and New ar gael.
Bydd ein siop lyfrau annibynnol lwyddiannus leol ‘Book-ish’ yn cynnig cyfle i’r awdur i lofnodi llyfrau ar ôl y digwyddiad hwn.
Bydd Tom yn arwyddo copïau o’i lyfr diweddaraf ‘Cooking and the Crown: Royal recipes from Queen Victoria to King Charles III’.
Gallwch brynu copïau yma, ochr yn ochr â'ch tocyn a bydd copïau pellach ar gael i'w prynu yn y theatr.
Tom’s new book lifts the curtain on royal kitchens past and present. ‘As a food history geek,’ he explains ‘I cannot tell you how exciting it has been to read original recipes in the royal archive in Windsor, and disappear into the lives and reigns (and eating habits) of sovereigns from Queen Victoria onwards.’ The published recipes however, he assures us, are not ‘roast cygnets and ortolans’ but ‘proper recipes’ that he’s loved to cook.
Although Tom is godson to the monarch and his mother, Camilla, is Queen, he can expect no deference from Matt. Tom and Matt go back a long way, to their co-hosting days on UKTV’s Market Kitchen.
