Tom Holland, the award-winning historian, biographer and broadcaster, will have the talk "Did Jesus Love Dinosaurs?" at the Science Library. Where are dinosaurs in the Bible? What icy abysses of time do they oblige a Christian to contemplate? How could a good and all-powerful Creator have sentenced such remarkable creatures to extinction? For almost two centuries now, dinosaurs have had a starring role in the West’s great crisis of faith. But even as they perplex biblical literalists and unsettle creationists, do they also suggest a startling possibility: that only in a Christian society could their existence ever have been fathomed in the first place?
