Led by drummer Tom Gordon's, his Kansas City 7 will bring us an evening of Swing Classics, inspired by the small groups of Count Basie, Benny Goodman and more. Excellent music for both listening and dancing, especially Lindy Hop and Jive!The band's line-up for the evening is Tom Gordon on drums, Lorne Cowieson on trumpet, Dick Lee on reeds, Phil O'Malley on trombone, Conor Smith on guitar, David Patrick on piano and Ewan Hastie on double bass.
The Edinburgh Jazz 'n Jive Club offers on Fridays live Jazz music in a relaxed club house atmosphere, with a bar and an excellent, wooden dance floor. The music is generally suitable for dancing Foxtrot and Swing (Lindy Hop, Shag, Balboa). Come along to listen to superb Jazz and to dance the evening away!
No need to book in advance, just come along! The entry fee of £12 (£10 for members) can be paid at the door by card, cash or cheque. The main entrance is from Bangholm Terrace, with step-free access from Warriston Gardens corner Inverleith Row.
