At NEW TAMPA JAZZ NIGHTS
Presented by Tampa Jazz Club & New Tampa PAC
Tickets at: https://tampajazzclub.com/
It’s a Centennial Tribute to the eminent jazz trombonist J. J. JOHNSON, when THE TOM BRANTLEY ENSEMBLE performs at New Tampa Jazz Nights, a series presented by the Tampa Jazz Club and the New Tampa Performing Arts Center, on Monday, October 28. This is the second concert in the series, held in the beautiful Center that is now entering its second season.
A virtuoso who did for the trombone what Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie did for their instruments with the birth of modern jazz, J. J. Johnson was also a notable composer. Tom Brantley, USF Professor of Trombone for the past 25 years, leads a seven-piece band of highly talented colleagues for the occasion, including JACK WILKINS, saxophone; JAMES SUGGS, trumpet; LaRUE NICKELSON, guitar; PABLO ARENCIBIA, piano; MARK NEUENSCHWANDER, bass; and DAVE RUDOLPH, drums.
Join the celebration of one of the most revered artists in jazz, and hear this true all-star band, at New Tampa Jazz Nights, in the lovely New Tampa Performing Arts Center, on October 28!
