Project Unity and the Latino Arts Project partner to present a conversation on Mexican and African history, culture and freedom.
About this Event

Started in 2017, Together We Dine (TWD) provides an opportunity for people to have conversations about race, community relations and other current events in a safe and non-threatening environment.

We are pleased to partner with the Latino Arts Project to offer a community conversation on Yanga and the Afro Mexican Experience as part of National Hispanic Heritage Month. This free exhibit brings awareness to the diversity of cultures within our communities and highlights the commonalities we share. Participants will tour the gallery while exploring the cultural impact of the Afro Mexican experience.

Following the gallery tour, Project Unity facilitators will lead interactive small group discussions as we explore the African and Mexican slave experiences, how they intersected and impacted our respective cultures through food, music, dance and art.

Join us for this cultural experience!
