Together tackles a simple title with a complex question: how to be together? Through a choreographic meditation, dancer Oisín Monaghan and artist-choreographer Maria Hassabi explore how two bodies affect and respond to each other, pushing the boundaries of perception.
Maria Hassabi's practice since the early 2000s focuses on the relationship between live body, to the still image, and to the sculptural object. Performance, installation, sculpture, photography, video: Hassabi uses various media to highlight formal complexity, often placing the performing body at the center. Through meticulous crafting her material, her works reveal the physical effects of labor, anchoring awareness to the present moment. Her works have been featured in many exhibitions and festivals across the world.
*Together (2019) was commissioned by the Pulitzer Arts Foundation, St. Louis, and supported by Extended Life, a program of the Lower Manhattan Council of the Arts. Together was developed through a residency at FLOOR (New York)

FR ⎯ Together aborde un titre simple avec une question complexe : comment être ensemble? À travers une méditation chorégraphique, le danseur Oisín Monaghan et l'artiste-chorégraphe Maria Hassabi explorent comment deux corps s'influencent et répondent l'un à l'autre, repoussant les limites de la perception.
Depuis le début des années 2000, la pratique de Maria Hassabi se concentre sur la relation entre le corps vivant, l'image fixe et l'objet sculptural. Performance, installation, sculpture, photographie, vidéo : Hassabi utilise divers médias pour mettre en lumière la complexité formelle, plaçant souvent le corps en mouvement au centre de son travail. À travers un traitement minutieux de son matériau, ses œuvres révèlent les effets physiques du travail, ancrant la conscience dans l'instant présent. Ses œuvres ont été présentées dans de nombreuses expositions et festivals à travers le monde.

NL ⎯ Together behandelt een eenvoudige titel met een complexe vraag: hoe kunnen we samen zijn? In een choreografische meditatie onderzoeken danser Oisín Monaghan en kunstenaar-choreograaf Maria Hassabi hoe twee lichamen elkaar beïnvloeden en op elkaar reageren. Ze tasten de grenzen van de perceptie af.
Maria Hassabi's praktijk richt zich sinds het begin van de jaren 2000 op de relatie tussen het levende lichaam, het stilstaande beeld en het sculpturale object. Performance, installatie, beeldhouwkunst, fotografie, video: Hassabi gebruikt verschillende media om de formele complexiteit te benadrukken, waarbij ze vaak het uitvoerende lichaam in het middelpunt plaatst. Door haar materiaal nauwgezet te bewerken, onthullen haar werken de fysieke effecten van arbeid en verankeren ze het bewustzijn in het huidige moment. Haar werken waren te zien op vele tentoonstellingen en festivals over de hele wereld.
